first_imgOn Thursday, the Petroleum Services Association of Canada announced that its Educational Fund program will be offering new scholarships to five schools that offer petroleum-related training programs. One of the five schools eligible for the new scholarship is Northern Lights College, which has campuses across northeast B.C., including in Fort St. John. A new scholarship opportunity has become available to five schools in Western Canada. Other eligible schools include Alberta`s Keyano College, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology. Each institute will receive four scholarships worth $1,500 each for a three-year period. President and CEO of PSAC Mark Salkeld says “the fund provides great opportunites for deserving students to acquire the knowledge and tools to thrive, and is just one example of the petroleum service sector supporting the Canadian communities in which we work. Encouraging students at a time when they are making crucial career decisions to consider the exciting prospects available in the service sector, and helping them capitalize on opportunities by providing further training and financial support is the central aim of the PSAC Educational Fund.
